Steve Bodner's report on oil spill in San Franciso Bay

Many of you around Toledo know Steve Bodner, USA-4, 2006 US Windsurfing National Champion.  Steve was a young pup living in Perrysburg when he started windsurfing sailing IMCO.   Steve now lives in San Franciso and practices Forumla sailing in the bay.   Steve has an excellent regatta report Blog   http://www.stevebodner.blogspot.com/ .     His most recent post is about the oil spill which has caused much environmental damage to the Bay.

Water quality is a problem everywhere. We have our own local water problems with high E-coli counts in Maumee Bay. Don't forget to ask your state and federal representatives what they plan to do about it if you ever get a chance to.

    Hey Scott-
Thanks for the link and great job getting the new site up. I always felt it was important for us watermen to have a certain respect and sense of ownership for the water we use. After all if the people who ise the water dont care for it, who will?
The oil spill in the SF Bay last month really brought together the people that use the Bay in the clean up effort. It was great to see windsurfers, surfers, kiters, swimmers, sailors and boaters all involved in the clean up effort.
Ive put together another site called friends of the water that tries to give ideas on how we can be better clean water advocates- http://www.stevebodner.com/friendsofthewater.html
Check it out and maybe 1 or 2 things will stick in your daily routine- making the waters ways a better place for us to sail.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
PS- while Im not quite living in SF at the moment, Amsterdam is my new home for now- lots of new waterways to explore!
